The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is the flagship of the Land Cruiser line: a 3.5 V6 twin-turbo petrol engine, an automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive with low range on a body-on-frame chassis. It seats seven, takes four large suitcases and uses about 12.5 L per 100 km. It pairs the comfort of a luxury car with the toughness that made the Land Cruiser name. Drivers must be aged 25 or older with a licence held for at least 3 years.
This is the luxury car that can leave the asphalt: the Truso valley past its abandoned villages, the track to Juta below the Chaukhi peaks, or the road from Mestia to Ushguli, with seven people on board. In winter it is a calm choice for Gudauri and the Jvari Pass, and on the highway between Tbilisi and Batumi it is quiet and refined. Tusheti over the Abano Pass needs our written permission, as with every car in our 4x4 range.
Tip: fuel stations are scarce in the high valleys, so start every gravel day with a full tank; for lower fuel use, the diesel Land Cruiser Prado covers the same routes.

How do I use low range in the Land Cruiser 300 on gravel roads like Truso?
Stay in high range on ordinary gravel and switch to low range only for steep, loose climbs, rocky sections and long descents. Select it with the car stopped and the gearbox in N, then let low range and engine braking hold your speed instead of riding the brakes. Switch back to high range once the track eases, and never use low range at normal road speeds.
