Car rental in Georgia: questions and answers

No credit card is needed and nothing is blocked on your card. You book without paying and pay the rental at pickup, in cash or by card. Most cars have no security deposit; 4x4 off-road and premium cars have a refundable deposit of 300 GEL that you get back when you return the car.

You pay when you collect the car, after we have checked it together. We accept cash in Georgian lari (GEL), US dollars or euros, and bank cards. There is no prepayment and no booking fee.

Georgia's currency is the lari (GEL), so our prices are set in GEL. You can switch the site to USD or EUR at the top of the page; those amounts are approximate and for orientation. If you pay in dollars or euros at pickup we use the day's exchange rate.

Your passport (or EU ID card) and your driving licence. A licence printed in Latin letters is enough. If your licence uses another alphabet (for example Cyrillic, Arabic or Hebrew), bring an International Driving Permit as well. Every additional driver needs the same documents.

The main driver must be at least 21 years old and have held a driving licence for at least one year. The same applies to additional drivers.

Choose a car and dates, then send the booking form. It takes about a minute and needs only your name, phone and email. We confirm availability and the handover details by email or WhatsApp, usually within an hour.

Yes. Cancellation and changes are free up to 24 hours before pickup. Because you do not pay anything in advance, there is nothing to refund. Just reply to the confirmation email or write to us.

Yes, the daily price drops automatically: 5% off for 4 to 7 days, 10% off for 8 to 14 days and 15% off for 15 days or more. For a month or longer, contact us for a monthly price.

Every rental includes third party liability and a collision damage waiver (CDW) that covers accidents and theft with an excess of up to 300 USD. You can add full insurance with zero excess for 25 GEL a day, which also covers glass and tyres.

Stop safely, call the police on 112 and then call or message us. Do not move the car before the police report unless it is dangerous. Insurance only applies with a police report, even for small scratches caused by another car.

Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) and Mestia are reached by paved roads, so any car is fine in summer; an AWD SUV is better in winter and for Ushguli. Gravel valleys like Truso and Juta need a 4x4. Tusheti (Abano Pass) is only allowed in our 4x4 cars with written permission. See the route guide.

Armenia is possible with a border permit (power of attorney and insurance papers) for 120 GEL; tell us at least two days ahead. Turkey, Azerbaijan and Russia are not allowed. Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region (South Ossetia) are always excluded.

Traffic drives on the right. Speed cameras are common and fines are linked to the number plate, so we forward any fine to you. Drink driving rules are strict: do not drink at all if you drive. On mountain roads watch for cattle, trucks and sharp bends, and avoid overtaking on blind corners.

Same to same: you get the car with a full tank and return it with a full tank (or the same level it had). Petrol stations are frequent along the main roads and accept cards. Missing fuel is charged at the pump price plus a small refuelling fee.

Yes, all rentals include unlimited kilometres anywhere in Georgia.

Yes. Delivery and return at Tbilisi (TBS), Kutaisi (KUT) and Batumi (BUS) airports is free, and so is delivery to hotels in Tbilisi and Batumi. We track your flight and wait if it is delayed.

Yes. Many flights to Tbilisi and Kutaisi land at night and we meet them. Add your flight number to the booking so we can follow it.

Yes. One-way rentals between Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi have a fixed fee: Tbilisi and Kutaisi 120 GEL, Tbilisi and Batumi 180 GEL, Kutaisi and Batumi 90 GEL. The booking summary adds it automatically.

Up to one hour late is free. After that a further rental day is charged. If your plans change, tell us and we will try to extend the rental.

Yes, child seats and boosters for children from 0 to 36 kg cost 10 GEL a day. Tick the option on the booking form and say the child's age in the comments.
