Car rental in Tbilisi with hotel delivery
We bring the car to your hotel or apartment, check it with you, and you pay on the spot. No credit card, no prepayment.
How delivery works in Tbilisi
-
1
Tell us where and when
Write your hotel or apartment address and the time you want the car in the booking form. Delivery in Tbilisi is free, and we confirm the details by email or WhatsApp.
-
2
Check the car together
We walk around the car with you and photograph any existing marks. Bring your passport and driving licence; a licence in a non-Latin alphabet also needs an International Driving Permit.
-
3
Pay, drive, return
Pay the rental in cash (GEL, USD, EUR) or by card at handover. At the end, hand the car back at your hotel or at Tbilisi Airport with the same fuel level.
Popular cars for Tbilisi and day trips
Hybrids for city traffic, sedans for Kakheti, and AWD SUVs for Kazbegi and the mountains.
Driving in Tbilisi
Traffic in Georgia drives on the right. The speed limit in Tbilisi is 60 km/h unless signs show otherwise, and speed cameras are common. Fines are linked to the number plate, so they reach us after the rental and we forward them to you.
Expect slow traffic at rush hour on the main avenues, and watch for buses and minibuses (marshrutkas) stopping and pulling out. The Old Town has narrow, steep lanes where walking is easier than driving, so keep the car for trips out of the city.
Parking in central Tbilisi
- Many central streets have zonal hourly parking. Pay with the official Tbilisi Parking app or at parking.tbilisi.gov.ge, and check the signs for the zone.
- Never park on a pavement. Cars parked there can be towed.
- Parking fines are linked to the number plate, just like speed camera fines, and are forwarded to you.
- Leave the car outside the Old Town and walk in: the lanes are narrow and parking there is closely enforced.
- If your hotel or apartment has no parking space, ask the host where guests usually park before you arrive.
Day trips from Tbilisi by car
Distances are by road from the city centre; times are without stops.
- Mtskheta: about 25 km, around 30 minutes. Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral are part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Ananuri Fortress: about 70 km, around 1 hour 15 minutes, on the road to Kazbegi.
- Sighnaghi and the Kakheti wineries: about 110 km, around 2 hours.
- Telavi: about 95 km, around 2 hours.
- David Gareja Monastery: about 100 km, around 2 hours. The road is paved most of the way, but the last stretch near the monastery can be rough.
- Kazbegi (Stepantsminda): about 155 km, around 3 hours on the Georgian Military Highway. Read our Tbilisi to Kazbegi guide before you go.
- Borjomi: about 160 km, around 2.5 hours.
- Vardzia cave monastery: about 225 km, around 4 hours. Combine it with Borjomi and stay overnight.
For Mtskheta, Kakheti and Borjomi any car is fine. For Kazbegi in snow season choose an AWD SUV such as the Toyota RAV4, and for gravel side valleys a 4x4. See all AWD and 4x4 cars.
City delivery or airport pickup?
If you land and head straight for the mountains or the wine region, collect the car at Tbilisi Airport and skip the city traffic. If you spend your first days in Tbilisi, you do not need a car for the Old Town. Start the rental on the morning you leave the city and we bring the car to your hotel or apartment. You save rental days and parking fees.
At the end of the trip, hand the car back at your hotel or at the airport before your flight. Delivery in Tbilisi and at the airport is free.
Longer and monthly rentals
The daily price drops automatically with the length of the rental: 5% off for 4 to 7 days, 10% off for 8 to 14 days and 15% off for 15 days or more. Mileage is unlimited on every rental, so weekend trips to the mountains or the sea add no kilometre charges.
For a month or longer, send us a message with your dates and the car you want, and we reply with a monthly price. You still pay on pickup, with no credit card needed.
Tbilisi: questions and answers
Do I need a credit card to rent a car in Tbilisi?
No. You book without card details, and nothing is blocked on a card. You pay the rental when the car is delivered, in cash (GEL, USD or EUR) or by bank card, after we have checked the car together. There is no prepayment, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup.
Is there a deposit?
Most cars have no security deposit. 4x4 off-road cars such as the Land Cruiser Prado and premium cars such as the Mercedes E-Class have a refundable deposit from 300 GEL; luxury and sports cars have a higher one. The amount for each car is shown on its page. The deposit is paid at pickup and returned when the car comes back in the same condition. Nothing is ever held on a credit card.
Can you deliver the car to my hotel or apartment?
Yes, delivery in Tbilisi is free. Write the address and the time you want the car in the booking form, and we confirm by email or WhatsApp. At the end of the rental you can hand the car back at the same address or at Tbilisi Airport before your flight.
Do you offer long term or monthly car rental in Tbilisi?
Yes. Prices drop automatically with the length of the rental: 5% off for 4 to 7 days, 10% off for 8 to 14 days and 15% off for 15 days or more. For a month or longer, contact us with your dates and the car you want, and we send you a monthly price. Mileage is unlimited.
Where can I park in central Tbilisi?
Many central streets have zonal hourly parking, paid with the official Tbilisi Parking app or at parking.tbilisi.gov.ge.
