About the Jeep Compass
The Jeep Compass is a compact SUV with a 2.4 petrol engine, an automatic gearbox and on-demand all-wheel drive, which brings in the rear wheels automatically when grip runs low. It seats five, takes three large suitcases and uses about 9.0 L per 100 km. Its compact size makes it easy to place on narrow mountain roads.
Winter is when a Compass rental makes most sense. Gudauri, Georgia's best-known ski resort, sits on the Georgian Military Highway just below the Jvari Pass, and the extra traction helps on packed snow. In summer it covers Kazbegi, Mestia and Ushguli comfortably. It is approved for mountain roads but not for rough gravel valleys such as Juta; for those, take the Mitsubishi Pajero or another 4x4 with low range.
Tip: all-wheel drive helps you move off and climb on snow, but it does not shorten braking distances, so keep speeds low on icy stretches.

Jeep Compass: questions and answers
How much does it cost to rent a Jeep Compass in Tbilisi?
The Jeep Compass costs 110 GEL a day for 1 to 3 days, 105 GEL a day for 4 to 7 days, 99 GEL for 8 to 14 days and 94 GEL for 15 days or more. Unlimited mileage, basic insurance (CDW) and delivery to Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi airport are included, and you pay at pickup.
Can I drive the Jeep Compass to Kazbegi, Gudauri or Svaneti?
Yes. With all-wheel drive the Jeep Compass suits the Georgian Military Highway to Kazbegi and Gudauri, the road to Mestia and the road from Mestia to Ushguli, in summer and in winter. Rough gravel valleys such as Truso and Juta need a 4x4.
How many people and suitcases fit in the Jeep Compass?
The Jeep Compass has 5 seats and 5 doors. With all seats in use the boot takes about 3 large suitcases plus small bags. For bigger groups see our minivans and 7 seat cars.
Is there a deposit for the Jeep Compass?
No. The Jeep Compass has no security deposit and nothing is blocked on your card. You pay the rental at pickup, in cash (GEL, USD, EUR) or by card.
How much fuel does the Jeep Compass use?
About 9 litres per 100 km with its 2.4 petrol engine. The fuel policy is same to same: you receive the car with a full tank and return it full.
Where can I pick up the Jeep Compass?
At Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi airport, where we meet you in the arrivals hall, or at your hotel in Tbilisi or Batumi. Delivery is free; returning the car in another city has a fixed one-way fee shown in the booking summary.
Is the Jeep Compass a real off-roader or an AWD SUV for mountain roads?
It is an AWD SUV for mountain roads and snow, not an off-roader. Our Compass has on-demand all-wheel drive without low range gearing, so it is approved for routes such as Kazbegi, Gudauri and Mestia but not for rough gravel valleys like Truso and Juta. For those, rent a 4x4 with low range such as the Mitsubishi Pajero, which also seats seven.
What should I know before driving the Jeep Compass on snow and ice?
All-wheel drive helps the Compass pull away and climb on snow, but it does not help it stop or steer any sooner, so drive as gently as you would in any car. Leave far more distance than usual, brake early before hairpins and keep the tank full in case the Jvari Pass closes for a few hours. Snow chains can be added on request; write it in the booking comments.
