About the Mercedes-Benz G-Class
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is the boxy off-road icon: a 4.0 V8 petrol engine, an automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive with low range, built on a body-on-frame chassis. It seats five, takes three large suitcases and uses about 14.5 L per 100 km. Few cars combine its presence in the city with its ability far from the asphalt. Drivers must be aged 25 or older with a licence held for at least 3 years.
In Tbilisi it is a popular choice to lead a wedding procession, with the couple or the best man on board; book it with our driver and decoration through our wedding cars page. Out of town it goes much further than most luxury cars: up the Georgian Military Highway to Kazbegi in any season, then along the gravel of the Truso and Juta valleys. Tusheti over the Abano Pass needs our written permission.
Tip: the V8 is thirsty, so start every mountain day with a full tank; for seven seats and lower running costs, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 covers the same roads.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class costs 900 GEL a day for 1 to 3 days, 855 GEL a day for 4 to 7 days, 810 GEL for 8 to 14 days and 765 GEL for 15 days or more. Unlimited mileage, basic insurance (CDW) and delivery to Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi airport are included, and you pay at pickup.
What do I need to rent the Mercedes-Benz G-Class?
The driver must be at least 25 years old and have held a driving licence for 3 years or more. A refundable deposit of 2500 GEL is paid at pickup and returned when the car comes back. If you would rather not drive, book the Mercedes-Benz G-Class with our driver.
Can I drive the Mercedes-Benz G-Class to Kazbegi, Gudauri or Svaneti?
Yes. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is approved for mountain roads in every season and for gravel tracks such as the Truso and Juta valleys. Tusheti (Abano Pass) is allowed only with our written permission, and Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region are always excluded.

Can the Mercedes G-Class lead a Georgian wedding procession?
Yes, that is one of its favourite roles. The G-Class can carry the couple at the head of the procession, from the bride's home to the church and on to the supra, with the family's cars following behind. Book it with our driver for 150 GEL a day, for up to 8 hours, and add ribbons and flowers for 100 GEL. If the couple rides in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the G-Class makes a striking car for the parents or the best man.
Mercedes G-Class or Land Cruiser 300: which luxury 4x4 is better for Kazbegi and Truso?
Both are approved for Kazbegi in any season and for the Truso and Juta valleys, and both have low range gearing. Choose the G-Class for its V8, its presence and the experience of driving an icon, and the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 for seven seats, a fourth large suitcase and a lower daily rate. The Land Cruiser also uses a little less fuel, about 12.5 L per 100 km against 14.5 L.
