About the Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the compact Mercedes sedan: a 2.0 turbo petrol engine, an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, which Mercedes calls 4MATIC. It seats five, takes two large suitcases and uses about 9.0 L per 100 km. All-wheel drive sets it apart from the rear-wheel-drive sedans in our range and makes it a premium car for every season. It follows our standard rental rules, so the driver must be aged 21 or older.

Rent a C-Class for business days between Tbilisi airport and the city centre, a weekend in Kakheti or the drive to Kutaisi and Batumi. Because it is approved for mountain roads, it can also take you to Gudauri or over the Jvari Pass to Kazbegi in winter, where the rear-wheel-drive sedans should not go. Gravel valleys such as Truso and Juta remain off limits.

Tip: the boot takes two large suitcases, so for four travellers with full luggage a premium SUV such as the Mercedes-Benz GLE is the better fit.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class: questions and answers

How much does it cost to rent a Mercedes-Benz C-Class in Tbilisi?

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class costs 300 GEL a day for 1 to 3 days, 285 GEL a day for 4 to 7 days, 270 GEL for 8 to 14 days and 255 GEL for 15 days or more. Unlimited mileage, basic insurance (CDW) and delivery to Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi airport are included, and you pay at pickup.

Can I drive the Mercedes-Benz C-Class to Kazbegi, Gudauri or Svaneti?

Yes. With all-wheel drive the Mercedes-Benz C-Class suits the Georgian Military Highway to Kazbegi and Gudauri, the road to Mestia and the road from Mestia to Ushguli, in summer and in winter. Rough gravel valleys such as Truso and Juta need a 4x4.

How many people and suitcases fit in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has 5 seats and 4 doors. With all seats in use the boot takes about 2 large suitcases plus small bags. For bigger groups see our minivans and 7 seat cars.

Is there a deposit for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Yes, a refundable deposit of 300 GEL is paid at pickup and returned when the car comes back in the same condition. The rental is also paid at pickup, in cash or by card; nothing is charged when you book.

How much fuel does the Mercedes-Benz C-Class use?

About 9 litres per 100 km with its 2.0 turbo petrol engine. The fuel policy is same to same: you receive the car with a full tank and return it full.

Where can I pick up the Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

At Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi airport, where we meet you in the arrivals hall, or at your hotel in Tbilisi or Batumi. Delivery is free; returning the car in another city has a fixed one-way fee shown in the booking summary.

Mercedes C-Class or BMW 3 Series: which compact premium sedan should I rent?

They cost the same per day, seat five and take two large suitcases. In Georgia the deciding factor is the season: the C-Class has all-wheel drive and is approved for mountain roads such as Gudauri and Kazbegi in winter, while the rear-wheel-drive BMW 3 Series is approved for paved roads and is best kept out of the snow. The 3 Series uses a little less fuel, about 7.8 L per 100 km against 9.0 L.

Is the Mercedes C-Class a good choice for winter in Georgia?

Yes, it is the sedan to choose for winter if you do not want an SUV. Its all-wheel drive gives steady grip on wet and snowy streets in Tbilisi and on the paved mountain road to Gudauri and Kazbegi. Drive gently, leave extra distance and check that the Jvari Pass is open on the day, since it can close for hours after heavy snow. Snow chains can be added on request: write it in the booking comments.
