About the Lexus GX 460
The Lexus GX 460 is the luxury sibling of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, built on the same body-on-frame base with four-wheel drive and low range. It has a 4.6 V8 petrol engine and an automatic gearbox, seats seven and takes three large suitcases with the third row folded. The V8 is smooth and strong but thirsty, at about 14.7 L per 100 km.
It brings a quiet, comfortable cabin to the roughest roads you are allowed to drive: the Truso valley, the track to Juta, the road from Mestia to Ushguli and, with our written permission, the Abano Pass to Tusheti. A family of seven can make the trip in one car. As one of our 4x4 off-road cars, it has a refundable deposit of 300 GEL, paid at pickup and returned with the car.
Tip: start every gravel day with a full tank, because fuel stations are scarce in the high valleys; for lower fuel use on the same routes, its diesel relative the Land Cruiser Prado goes further.

Lexus GX 460 or Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: what is the difference?
They share the same body-on-frame base, seven seats and four-wheel drive with low range, cost the same per day, and both are approved for Truso, Juta and, with written permission, Tusheti. The GX adds a 4.6 V8 and a more luxurious, quieter cabin. The Land Cruiser Prado has a 2.8 diesel that uses about 9.5 L per 100 km against the GX's 14.7 L, and takes four large suitcases instead of three.
Do the luxury car age rules apply to the Lexus GX 460?
No. Although it is a Lexus, the GX 460 is rented as one of our 4x4 off-road cars, so the standard rules apply: the driver must be at least 21 years old, and a refundable deposit of 300 GEL is paid at pickup and returned when the car comes back. The higher age limit of 25 applies only to certain luxury and sports cars, such as the BMW X5, and is shown on their pages.
